How to choose the right stretch film

Stretch film is the effective way to protect goods on a pallet.

Stretch Wrap

Stretch film protects contents from weather and dust in transport and storage It stabilises cartons and ensures pallet loads are kept together It is tear resistant and holds pallet loads up to 1000kg without slipping. All of our hand stretch film dimensions (thickness, width and length) are guaranteed so you always get what you pay for!
Blown Film
Ideal for stabilising irregular shaped loads. It is tacky on both sides and also tear and puncture resistant for maximum efficiency in securing pallets. Recommended for general use and in deep freeze storage.
Pre-Stretched Film
This is an easy to use film which can save you time and money. As it is pre-stretched the width doesn't decrease when you apply it so it is quicker and requires less effort to use. Once applied, this film will remain tight around your products and will produce half the normal waste when removed
Cast Film
A strong clear film that sticks only to itself so it is quieter than other films. It prevents products on pallets from moving while in transit. Cast film is particularly popular in the food industry.
Colored Film or Tinted Film
Colored films are ideal for identifying pallet contents and providing additional security. Only two wraps guarantee an opaque cover that ensures the contents cannot be seen. Available in 5 colours: black (blown film), white, blue red and green (cast film)
Which thickness?

The recommended thickness, measured in microns,

depends on the weight of the load as follows:

Up to 660 lbs: = 14 micron or 53 gauge
661 - 1100 lbs: = 17 micron or 67 gauge
1101 - 1540 lbs: = 20 micron or 79 gauge
1540 - 1760 lbs: = 23 micron or 91 gauge
Up to 2200 lbs: = 35 micron or 138 gauge
Using Stretch Film
Standard stretch film comes on a cardboard core which can be applied by hand. However, we recommend using a dispenser for larger applications. We offer a choice of Masterwrap Deluxe Dispenser or Hand-Held Stretch Film Dispenser depending on your usage. Alternatively, you could opt for our Stretch Film Wrap With Built In Handles which have extra long smooth cardboard cores that have flexible plastic handles to make application easier.
